Most of Schaumburg's 2026 restaurant news has come from the corner of Golf and Meacham, across from Woodfield Mall. Through the end of summer, though, only three restaurants there had confirmed opening dates in published reports, and the rest of that site was still running on targets and "coming soon" pages. The newcomers that came with a full concept and a fixed date are mostly a few miles west. One is a three-story pub in Town Square, and the other is an Indian restaurant on Schaumburg Road. For dinner plans in October, it helps to know which openings are finished and which are still on the way.
The biggest new room in town is on Roselle Road
Hopscotch opened in May 2026 at 40 S. Roselle Rd. in Schaumburg Town Square, according to the Village. The Village calls it a British pub-themed restaurant with English, Indian, Portuguese and American dishes. The building has three levels with golf simulators, batting and cricket machines, a gaming room and private-event space.
The menu takes its British side seriously. It lists fish and chips, bangers and mash, tikka masala and a Sunday roast prime rib. The restaurant's own story page credits founders Dipak Lodhia and Subbu Vibha Iyer, who set out to build a community pub. It also lists a rooftop terrace and a Fall 2026 banquet menu for private events. That banquet menu is useful to know about if you're still looking for a place for a holiday office party or a family gathering in Schaumburg.
This was a long time coming. An April 10 Daily Herald story called Hopscotch "long-awaited" and expected a mid-May opening, possibly as early as the week of May 11. The Village's Town Square page now confirms it opened that month.
Town Square has a weekly reason to stop by for a few more weeks, too. The Village Farmers Market runs Fridays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, through October 30. As of today, October 6, that leaves four market days: October 9, 16, 23 and 30. The Schaumburg Township District Library is also part of Town Square, so the market, the library and lunch at Hopscotch fit easily into one trip.
Schaumburg Road had its own spring date
The other 2026 newcomer with a fixed date was set for April. The Secret Kitchen: The Indian Saga was scheduled to open Sunday, April 19, at 1411 W. Schaumburg Rd., according to an April 15 Daily Herald story describing it as bringing royal Indian cuisine to the village.
Put that next to Hopscotch's tikka masala, and Schaumburg has two new spots for Indian dishes this year, both west of the Woodfield area. Neither one is in a new development, so neither date depended on a whole site being built around it. Our research didn't find a later report confirming the April 19 opening, so check the restaurant's own listing before you go.
Golf and Meacham is about halfway there
Things look different at the Crossroads of Schaumburg. The development is planned as five buildings on 7.4 acres at the northwest corner of Golf and Meacham roads, and it broke ground in April 2025. A year and a half later, the first building is full and the rest are in different stages.
Here is where each tenant stood in the most recent reports:
- Piccolo Buco, 1340 E. Golf Rd. The Daily Herald reported a planned opening of Monday, June 29. It was serving by mid-August.
- CAVA, 1320 E. Golf Rd. Opened July 27.
- Dave's Hot Chicken, 1330 E. Golf Rd. Grand opening Friday, August 14, in the same building as Piccolo Buco and CAVA.
- Panda Express. Targeted August 24, according to village officials in that August report.
- Paris Baguette. Targeted "by the end of August" in the same report.
- Velvet Taco, 1260 N. Meacham Rd. The company's location page still says "Coming Soon!" and gives no date.
- Vannie's House, a bubble tea and coffee lounge. Still working through permits as of August 14.
- A high-end fast-casual sandwich shop, not yet named. It was in the running for the space first planned for Crisp & Green.
- Lazy Dog. Its building was being redesigned, and construction hadn't started as of mid-August.
Our research didn't turn up any later report confirming whether Panda Express or Paris Baguette opened. Treat those August dates as targets and check each restaurant's own site before you go. The Village's August 14 progress report gave a similar order. It said Piccolo Buco opened in June, CAVA followed, and Velvet Taco and Panda Express were expected in August, with Paris Baguette soon after.
The tenant list has changed along the way, and one Village page hasn't caught up. Paris Baguette took the spot once planned for Naansense. The Village's "businesses coming soon" page still lists Naansense and a Fall 2026 opening for the whole project. If you're trying to figure out what's open at Golf and Meacham, the August reporting is the better guide.
So what's finished at Crossroads this fall is one building with three quick, casual restaurants. The full-service restaurant in the plan, Lazy Dog, hasn't started construction.
Woodfield's additions are mostly about things to do
Inside Woodfield Mall, the biggest 2026 addition is entertainment, not food. Great Big Game Show, a live game-show venue, opened at Woodfield in April. A Shaw Local preview from March 31 gave April 5 in the story and April 6 in a photo caption. By April 17, ABC7 was reporting from the open venue.
Store news through the summer leaned toward clothing. A July 2 Daily Herald roundup listed Bonobos, Vuori and Mavi as newly open, and Pacsun had just finished a renovation.
Three more Woodfield additions are still listed as coming:
- Chubby Cattle, next to Sbarro, was in final preparation in a July 7 company update. We found no opening date.
- Bam Kazam's Schaumburg page lists Woodfield Mall, says "Opening soon," and says no exact date has been announced.
- A Peloton pop-up on the lower level near Grand Court was in final preparation as of that same July update.
Chubby Cattle is the one sit-down restaurant on that list. It means the area around Woodfield also has a sit-down restaurant still on the way, like Lazy Dog across Golf Road. Both are useful to know about, since neither had an opening date in anything we found.
The fall and holiday calendar, in order
Whatever is or isn't open yet, these dates are set:
- Through October 30: Fridays, the Town Square Farmers Market, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Through October 31: Ragstock's Halloween shop at Woodfield Mall, open since September 14.
- Saturday, October 17: The Village's free, family-friendly Public Safety Open House.
- Saturday, October 24: MALL-O-WEEN at Woodfield, with interactive games and mall-wide trick-or-treating, 1 to 3 p.m.
- November 5 to December 24: Santa photos at Woodfield.
- November 29 to December 6: Pet photos with Santa at Woodfield.
One familiar stop is not on this year's list. The Schaumburg Park District's Nature Center at Spring Valley is closed for renovation, and the district expects the work to wrap up in late spring 2027.
Taken together, the fall plan is pretty simple. For a new place with a full menu and room to spend an evening, Hopscotch in Town Square is open now, and The Secret Kitchen on Schaumburg Road had an April date. For a quick meal near Woodfield, the first Crossroads building has Piccolo Buco, CAVA and Dave's Hot Chicken next to each other. Velvet Taco, Vannie's House, Lazy Dog, Chubby Cattle and Bam Kazam are still on the way, and the next round of Golf and Meacham news will come from them.
